Our take on UNHUMAN
The defining structure is its automated extraction loop: the character navigates, loots, and fights independently while the player selects destinations and decides when to leave before death.
What is UNHUMAN?
Set in a cyberpunk dystopia, UNHUMAN combines idle progression with extraction-shooter gameplay in a 2D world.
During raids, the character moves between selected sites automatically, searches containers, hacks terminals, opens locks, collects gear, and battles enemies. Clicking a destination determines the next stop, but escape must happen before death or all raid loot is forfeited. Weapons generate heat, can jam, and have recoil; submachine guns, shotguns, and bolt-action rifles each handle differently. Advancement includes a skill tree with hundreds of nodes, five classes, keystones, cybernetic augments, weapon modules, affixes, and a stash for equipment. A dog companion spots threats and brings back additional loot. An arcade side mode offers endless enemy waves, bosses, rebirths, permanent upgrades, auto-clickers, and Insanity currency.
How UNHUMAN plays
- 01Automated Raids
- The character moves between selected locations, searches points of interest, and battles enemies while the player directs the route.
- 02Extraction Loss
- Dying before leaving a raid causes its collected contents to be lost.
- 03Weapon Handling
- Firearms can overheat, jam, and recoil, while SMGs, shotguns, and bolt-action rifles use different combat patterns.
- 04Build Progression
- The skill tree contains hundreds of nodes, five classes, and keystones that alter gameplay.
- 05Gear Crafting
- Raid modules produce random affixes, while codes allow a chosen affix to be applied through the Tech Terminal.
- 06Dog Companion
- The companion warns of enemies before ambushes and retrieves additional loot during raids.
- 07Insanity Arcade
- Players fight endless enemy waves and bosses, then spend Insanity on permanent upgrades and auto-clickers.
- 08Trader Reputation
- Five specialist traders offer quests that can improve discounts, bargain prices, and coin-flip rates.
