Our take on Toads of the Bayou
The game combines grid-based, turn-based battles with deckbuilding and run-based progression instead of using a single tactical format. Tavern restoration connects the journey with allies, cards, traps and Veves, while permadeath structures each run.
What is Toads of the Bayou?
Lead wandering toads through a cursed bayou while fighting Baron Samedi’s forces in turn-based, grid-based combat.
Choose between 3 playable toads, each with distinct traits, bonuses and weaknesses. Build a deck by combining tactical movement cards with combat cards, and use allies, traps and Veves that harness vodou powers. Upgrade and restore the tavern, which allies inhabit during the journey. Each run covers three islands and includes combat encounters, while permadeath grants upgrades at the end of each run. The game includes 50+ cards, 20 support toads, 22 traps, 10 bosses and an original soundtrack.
