Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-first strategy may find gathering, construction and deity management take up much of the game
- Players wanting a fixed campaign structure may not enjoy the roguelike progression and management loop
- Players looking for a direct military simulation may find the underworld-building and ritual systems too prominent
Our take on The Deadly Path
Its broad management loop trades direct action for oversight: gathering, construction, servant supervision and divine obligations all compete for attention. That layered structure leaves less room for players who want combat to dominate each session.
What is The Deadly Path?
The Deadly Path combines underworld construction management with real-time strategy and roguelike progression.
As the Custodian, players gather grim materials, expand a base, construct buildings and manage servants. Different Dread Deities have individual gameplay quirks, perks and victory conditions. Excavated tiles reveal new areas, while advancing through the Ages unlocks additional tiles, loot, minions and other possibilities. Buildings, boneyards and fabricators support stockpiles, and servant armies defend the domain from attackers and unseen threats. Charms, idols and sacrificial rituals contribute to efforts to appease the gods. The central loop balances expansion, resource gathering, defensive preparation and devotion while the underworld develops.
