Our take on the Line
The Line replaces the usual dungeon-crawler journey with a prolonged resettlement queue. Its central obstacle is not simply reaching a deeper area: progress depends on combat, negotiation, reading opponents, or exchanging places for inventory items.
What is the Line?
The Line is a survival roguelike dungeon crawler built around turn-based battles.
Angelina and Fin, her mutated canine companion, seek to uncover the real purpose of a plan to move people out of the city's decaying eastern district. The line for relocation advances at a sluggish pace. To get forward, Angelina can fight, bargain with others, exploit their psychological vulnerabilities, or trade inventory items for a place in the queue. She has six attacks, most of which recharge after use. Four can place buffs or debuffs, while the remaining attacks deal varying damage. Fin can investigate areas that people cannot access. The game assesses players for taking loot from containers, furniture, and other objects.
