SimulationIs Plaything worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy dark escape games with changing challenges and routes
- Fans of repeated-attempt games who want each run to use different tools and escape methods
- Players seeking a dungeon game with deadly minigames rather than open-world exploration
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed experience may not suit a game built around deadly trials and frequent failure
- Players wanting a fixed puzzle sequence may find the changing tools, games, and escape methods less predictable
- Players looking for a broad crafting, combat, or open-world adventure may find the dungeon escape structure limited
Our take on Plaything
The defining structure is that every attempt gives a new victim a different set of tools, games, and escape methods, making escape a changing sequence rather than a fixed route.
What is Plaything?
Plaything is an escape game set in a dungeon where a captor forces each new victim through deadly challenges.
Gameplay is split between his games and the attempt to escape captivity. Players find tools, inspect items, and interact with the environment to discover a way out. Each run changes the available tools, challenges, and escape methods, so attempts do not follow the same sequence. Failure can result in death, while being caught during an escape attempt also ends the run. The game includes 9 minigames, multiple escape routes, a progression system, Steam Achievements, a leaderboard, and English, French, and German audio. It supports keyboard and mouse controls as well as controllers.
