Our take on The Forgettable Dungeon
The game trades persistent run progression for repeatable variation: procedural layouts, randomized items, and permadeath keep each attempt distinct, but a failed run does not preserve its dungeon progress. Its voxel editing also adds creative scope without changing the core action-focused structure.
What is The Forgettable Dungeon?
The Forgettable Dungeon is a top-down action roguelike set in a procedurally generated voxel world.
Players can explore alone or join online and local multiplayer sessions, fighting monsters, avoiding traps, and searching dungeons for loot. The environment can be destroyed with bombs, including walls that block routes. Each playthrough changes the dungeon layout and item selection, while permadeath resets the run. Character, monster, item, and texture skins can be edited with an in-game voxel editor and shared through the Workshop. Combat takes place in real time and draws on Zelda-style action and beat ’em up games. A retro overworld, bosses, controller support, and a guidebook for tracking goals are also included.
