Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a straightforward combat game may hit a wall when investigations and enemy research become necessary.
- Players who prefer a tightly linear campaign may find the selectable contracts and varied approaches less structured.
- Players looking for a medieval animal-world adventure will find a supernatural Australian setting instead.
- Players seeking cooperative tower defense will not find that structure here.
Our take on HellSign
The bounce point arrives when combat preparation becomes part of the investigation: players who want to shoot immediately may stall at the evidence-reading, weakness-discovery, and equipment-selection systems.
What is HellSign?
HellSign is an investigative action RPG about a hunter tracking supernatural creatures in a small Australian town.
Jobs begin with examining surroundings and collecting clues, then choosing how to confront the target. Research can reveal weaknesses, while firearms, traps, special ammunition, and other hunting equipment support different approaches. Contracts include ghosts, hellhounds, giant spiders, demons, and other hostile beings, with each job presenting different circumstances. Completing work develops the hunter’s skills and expands the arsenal through an RPG and job system. The story follows a character with fragmented memories, a mysterious mark, and a trail of disturbing sightings. The Cryptonomicon records defeated creatures and gathered clues.
