Our take on Runehaven
Rune crafting and destructible environments give exploration and combat several possible approaches, but the procedurally generated structure gives up a fixed, authored route through the world. Runs therefore center on adapting to changing environments rather than following one consistent sequence.
What is Runehaven?
Runehaven is a roguelike dungeon crawler set in a procedurally generated voxel world.
Players combine more than 25 runes to create spells with different effects, such as joining fire and missile runes to make a fire missile. The environment can be destroyed by players and monsters, allowing secrets, shortcuts, and locked entrances to be approached in different ways. Exploration includes various biomes and boss battles. Combat supports magic, melee, and ranged weapons, while spells can be bound to weapons as enchantments. Character progression includes leveling up and a rune book for tracking runes. Mod support and an integrated level editor allow creation of weapons, props, items, biomes, and worlds.
