Our take on Isles of Etherion
The emphasis on a destructible, reactive world creates a broad set of interacting systems, but the game gives up a finished presentation in return: it remains in Early Access and is explicitly not yet complete.
What is Isles of Etherion?
Isles of Etherion is a third-person open-world action RPG set across destructible floating islands.
Players explore vertically with flight and gliding, travel by airship, dig through terrain, and fight creatures and warriors using weapons and spells. Spell weaving combines magic types, while elemental effects can alter the environment and attract creatures with matching affinities. The world includes dungeons, changing seasons, day and night cycles, and randomly occurring earthquakes, meteors, volcanic eruptions, and tornadoes. Players can acquire enemy airships through purchase or battle, build a fleet, and face Elemental Bosses and Demigods. Character selection includes 7 races: Human, Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Fairy, Angel, and Demon. The game is in Early Access and is not yet in its final state.
