Our take on The Deed
The bounce point arrives when the murder plan shifts into evidence management and interrogation. Players who want direct action may lose interest once success depends on choosing a suspect, placing clues, and answering the inspector without drawing suspicion.
What is The Deed?
The Deed is an Adventure/RPG game set in Dunshiel House, where Arran Bruce returns after learning that his father plans to remove him from the inheritance.
The central objective is to kill Arran’s sister and avoid blame. Players explore the house, speak with family members and servants, select one of ten possible weapons, and consider who might become a suspect. Evidence can be placed in suitable locations to redirect suspicion toward another person. After the murder, an inspector questions Arran, and his answers affect whether suspicion rises. The game includes multiple possible endings based on conversations, actions, weapon choice, evidence placement, and the interrogation.
How The Deed plays
- 01Ten Weapon Choices
- Household objects such as a rope, candlestick, or rat poison can be selected for the murder.
- 02Evidence Placement
- Clues can be positioned in locations intended to make a family member or servant appear responsible.
- 03Inspector Interrogation
- The final interview tests whether Arran can answer questions without increasing suspicion.
- 04Multiple Endings
- The outcome can vary according to the player’s actions throughout the case.
