Best Served Cold combines cocktail service with murder-mystery investigation in an alternate-history European speakeasy.
At The Nightcap, players prepare and serve drinks while hearing patrons’ stories and gathering information about a case affecting Bukovie society. Conversation can involve charming or threatening patrons to obtain details. The game features 20 distinct characters whose loyalties must be assessed as clues emerge. Across five cases, players examine evidence, question suspects, and manage the bar while trying to save lives and keep the business open. Its setting includes labour strikes, rationing, social unrest, and the threat of war, with customers ranging from wealthy drinkers to corrupt police and criminals.
