Our take on Sword of the Stars: Complete Collection
The collection trades simplicity for breadth: six races, multiple expansions, extensive research, and ship construction create a large strategic framework, but require more time to learn and manage than a focused space strategy game.
What is Sword of the Stars: Complete Collection?
Command a spacefaring civilization in the year 2405 after faster-than-light travel changes interstellar conflict.
The collection includes the original game and three expansions, with six playable races across the full set: Humans, Hivers, Tarkas, Liir, Zuul, and Morrigi. Each race uses a distinct method of traveling between star systems. Research more than 150 technologies, select from over 40 weapons, and design Destroyer, Cruiser, and Dreadnought ships. The expansions add technologies, weapons, ship sections, scenarios, maps, encounters, orbital facilities, and systems such as trade routes and diplomatic communications. Games support solo play, AI opponents, LAN or online multiplayer for up to eight players, and cooperative scenario maps.
