StrategyIs Silica worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- FPS players who want the option to command forces rather than fight only on the ground
- Strategy players who want to direct battles while also having a ground-combat role available
- Players interested in human-versus-alien battles with land and air vehicles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a single, consistent perspective may find the shift between ground combat and top-down command limiting.
- Players who prefer intimate encounters may not enjoy battles that include large harvesters and buildings.
- Players seeking a single-player campaign may not find the multiplayer combat format suitable.
Our take on Silica
The two-role setup offers both direct combat and battlefield command, but players focused on one style may have to engage with a perspective and role they did not choose.
What is Silica?
Silica combines first-person combat with real-time strategy battles between humans and aliens on the planet Baltarus.
Players can join the fighting on the ground or take the commander role, directing forces from a top-down view. Land and air vehicles are available for combat across the planet’s sandy terrain. The game features units at different scales, from infantry squads to large harvesters and buildings. Its two roles offer different ways to take part in battles: direct control as a combatant or broader tactical direction as commander.
