Our take on Battlezone: Combat Commander
Its defining structure is the blend of direct first-person fighting with real-time control over a battlefield force, requiring players to switch between personal combat, resource collection, construction, and unit management.
What is Battlezone: Combat Commander?
Battlezone: Combat Commander combines first-person combat with real-time strategy across 24 missions on six worlds.
Players gather bio-metal from battlefields and spend it on units, defenses, and facilities. More than 30 unit types include tanks, ground forces, walkers, and aircraft. Combat units gain experience, changing their battlefield behavior as they learn to use different weapons, strafe, or withdraw. The game includes cross-play multiplayer with Deathmatch and the cooperative MPI mode, where players coordinate attacks, defenses, and scrap collection. It also includes revised visuals using a DX11 renderer, along with Steam Workshop and mod support for maps, vehicles, interfaces, assets, and scripts.

Battlezone: Combat Commander compared to similar games
Anomaly: Warzone Earth also combines action and strategy around an alien invasion, but its description centers on a reversed tower-defense format rather than first-person combat with more than 30 controllable unit types. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened combines cooperative action with tower defense and adds loot, leveling, pets, and character customization, while Battlezone: Combat Commander focuses on campaign missions, battlefield salvage, and FPS-RTS command.
