Our take on Silence
The story's focus on Noah and Renie's search gives the journey a clear direction, but leaves less room for open-ended exploration or a broad range of play styles.
What is Silence?
During an air raid, 16-year-old Noah and his younger sister Renie take shelter in a bunker and find themselves in Silence, a world between life and death.
When Renie goes missing, Noah travels through its serene but dangerous settlements to find her. Dark creatures threaten the inhabitants, while a small rebel group resists them. The siblings' journey follows their search and their effort to protect Silence and its residents. Spot, a magical caterpillar, accompanies them, and the story centers on Noah and Renie's relationship. The game features three playable characters, 3D characters, and 2D backgrounds.
How Silence plays

- The journey can be played through three different characters.
- 02Mixed visual styles
- Characters are rendered in 3D against 2D backgrounds.
- 03Companion caterpillar
