Our take on Cradle
The open-world framing gives the setting considerable emphasis, but the central structure is a personal mystery: repairing one companion and investigating one abandoned park. Exploration supports that story rather than replacing it with a broad sandbox of unrelated activities.
What is Cradle?
Cradle is a first-person science-fiction adventure set in Mongolia in 2076.
The player wakes in a yurt without a name or memories, alongside a mechanical girl whose body needs repair. Exploration extends across the surrounding steppe, river, yurt, and a nearby abandoned entertainment park. Objects can be examined and used, while conversations with non-player characters reveal parts of the setting and story. The narrative follows questions about the protagonist, the mechanical companion, the park, and the earlier development of artificial carriers for human consciousness. Gameplay combines exploration quests with mini-games. The soundtrack includes 90 minutes of ambient, synthetic, and vocal music.
