Our take on Shattered Heaven
The focus on deck construction and repeated procedural runs gives up the immediacy of conventional action combat. Progress also depends on managing separate heroes, equipment, crafting, skill choices, and changing dungeon conditions rather than relying on one fixed build.
What is Shattered Heaven?
Shattered Heaven is a single-player deck-building RPG that combines card-based combat with roguelike dungeon runs.
Players create initial decks for three heroes, add cards during each run, and adapt each character through distinct abilities, trinkets, and a skill tree. Procedurally generated dungeons contain monsters, treasures, and recipes for creating or upgrading potions, weapons, and amulets. Each dungeon also introduces a changing difficulty effect, while black bones can be spent at the dark forge to improve characters. A branching narrative follows four factions struggling against a curse, with decisions affecting the protagonists and the wider world. The game uses a 2D cartoon presentation, dark-fantasy and Lovecraftian elements, and an opera-led soundtrack.

Shogun Showdown also combines turn-based combat, deck building, upgrades, skills, and roguelike progression, but its description centers on positioning, attack tiles, combos, and confronting the Shogun. Shattered Heaven adds three customizable heroes, procedural dungeons with crafting, and a branching narrative shaped by player decisions.
