Our take on SGS Heia Safari
Rather than focusing on a major European front, this historical strategy game centers on a colonial campaign in East Africa. Its structure also gives the outnumbered German side scarce resources and skilled leadership against larger Entente forces.
What is SGS Heia Safari?
Lead Imperial German forces and their Askaris, or command Entente troops from the Commonwealth, Belgium, and Portugal, during the East African campaign of World War One.
The main scenario spans 45 turns from August 1914 to November 1918, with each turn representing about one month. Seven scenarios include annual campaigns, a mid-length campaign beginning in 1916, and a full-war Grand Campaign. German forces defend their colony with limited troops and resources, while Entente forces have greater numbers but less capable commanders. Event cards create diplomatic, military, political, and economic situations across repeated campaigns. Estimated playtime is 10 hours or more.
