What is Plateman?
Plateman is a 2D side-scrolling platformer set in a steampunk world built around a huge difference engine, a steam-powered computer.
Players control a high school senior who enters this world and becomes a Steam Shaman. The character has lost his memory and must search for his identity while exploring the machine-filled environment and confronting monsters. A skill tree combines steam machinery with Shaman magic, allowing abilities to build over the course of the journey. Combat uses a Shaman Drum weapon alongside skills, with combinations beyond jumping. Lightning powers and Shaman culture are tied to the story's mysteries, including the secrets of the soul tree.
