RPGIs Rune Teller worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Fantasy RPG players who want an exploration-led journey through a named world
- Players who prefer recruiting companions and assigning roles rather than traveling alone
- Crafting-focused players who want gathering, alchemy, smithing, and cooking alongside character growth
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly linear adventure may find the journey's travel between regions and dungeon searches too open-ended.
- Players looking for a short story may find the long journey and growth through repeated actions a poor fit.
- Players who want a strictly solo adventure may not want to recruit companions and assign their roles.
Our take on Rune Teller
Players who want a tightly paced narrative may hit a wall when the journey opens into multiple regions and dungeon searches. Those uninterested in gathering and crafting may also find the progression loop less appealing, since herbs and ore feed into alchemy and blacksmithing.
What is Rune Teller?
Rune Teller is an action-adventure RPG set in Runegea, where exploration leads toward the reason for the protagonist’s resurrection.
The journey begins among the ruins of Runas and continues through regions including the Eastern Valley, Central Mountain, Dyra Desert, the Frozen Elves' Forest, and King's Mountain. Dungeons are scattered across the world, and residents have requests to solve. Companions can be recruited and assigned roles for travel. Gathering herbs supports alchemy, mining ore supports blacksmithing, and cooking food provides health. Character growth reflects actions: using the main weapon builds familiarity, while spells become stronger. The story concludes at the end of the journey.
