Our take on Pine Hearts
Its defining structure is a connected nature reserve where new equipment and abilities gradually open shortcuts and additional areas, tying gentle exploration to Tyke’s journey through memories of his father.
What is Pine Hearts?
Pine Hearts follows Tyke on a hiking journey through a large nature reserve inspired by the Scottish Highlands.
The interconnected map contains beaches, caves, campsites, castle ruins, golf courses, and caravan parks, with paths and shortcuts linking its areas. Exploration includes cleaning campsites, investigating locations, finding collectibles, and completing quirky tasks for local characters. Quests involve activities such as judging vegetables, conducting a brass band, helping a ghost, rebuilding a whale-watching boat, rescuing bees, and setting camera traps.
Equipment and abilities open new routes and areas at an individual pace. The story focuses on family memories and the loss of Tyke’s father, with benches providing pauses to take in the surroundings. Accessibility options include remappable controls, font scaling, colour and contrast modes, and visual-effect toggles.
