Our take on Perception
The game replaces ordinary visual exploration with echolocation. Sound serves two opposing purposes: it reveals the mansion around Cassie, but also brings The Presence closer, making perception itself part of the danger.
What is Perception?
Perception is a narrative thriller about Cassie, a blind woman investigating the mansion from her nightmares.
She explores the Estate at Echo Bluff using sound as her sight: each noise creates a visual representation of her surroundings. The Presence, a deadly entity stalking the mansion, is drawn closer by every sound Cassie makes. Players must balance making enough noise to perceive the estate with avoiding the danger it attracts. Solving mysteries causes radical changes at the estate, while Cassie travels back through history to exorcise her nightmares. The story follows her attempt to uncover the mansion’s sordid history, understand why she is there, and discover why the house will not let her or anyone else leave.
