Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a combat-heavy horror game may hit a wall when encounters require hiding, running, or avoiding ghosts.
- Players wanting a self-contained story may bounce off the chapter structure and its ongoing development plan.
- Players looking for a relaxed exploration game may struggle once dangerous ghosts begin chasing Eve.
Our take on LIRE
The bounce point arrives when ghost encounters demand more than exploration: wandering ghosts require hiding and controlled escapes, while berserk ghosts cannot be avoided. Players who prefer predictable movement or direct confrontation may stop at these chase systems.
What is LIRE?
LIRE follows Eve Antoinette, who enters a previously unknown abandoned mansion after her cat Sebastian disappears into the forest.
The survival horror game combines exploration with ghost encounters, hiding, running, puzzles, and environmental commands. Ghosts have different behaviors: some talk or remain in one place, while others trigger chases or block paths. Players can use the shout command in suitable locations, hide from wandering ghosts, manage stamina while escaping, and use health or stamina potions. The story is divided into several chapters because of development-budget limitations. The game draws inspiration from older horror RPG Maker titles, including IB and The Witch’s House.
How LIRE plays
- 01Varied Ghost Behaviors
- Ghost types include conversational spirits, path-blocking entities, trigger-based apparitions, and enemies that pursue Eve.
- 02Stealth And Chases
- Eve can hide from certain ghosts and must manage her running during attacks.
- 03Survival Items
- Health and stamina potions restore resources that affect continued exploration.
- 04Chapter-Based Story
- The narrative is split into multiple chapters because development is being funded over time.
