- Players looking for a story mode built for groups larger than four will exceed the campaign's stated co-op limit.
Our take on Outbreak
The defining constraint is that each character has only one life while the clock keeps running, making inventory choices part of an ongoing escape from the undead.
What is Outbreak?
Outbreak is a survival horror game set in a city overrun by the undead.
Players explore a deserted hospital, search rooms for supplies and puzzle solutions, and choose what to carry in an extremely limited inventory. The clock continues while a horde pursues them, and each character has only one life. The campaign can be played solo or with up to four players in co-op; Nightmares offers a single-player story, while Onslaught pits players against waves of enemies.
Solo campaign and Onslaught runs can include an optional partner AI. The game supports offline solo play with pausing, as well as online co-op and two-player splitscreen for Campaign and Onslaught. Seven survivors have different attributes and starting equipment, and enemy and item placements vary between playthroughs.
