Rather than using a fixed campaign path, the game frames its horror-action structure around repeated descents, loadout decisions, extraction, and match rewards. Its wager mode also adds rival survivors and one-life competition to the cooperative dungeon-crawling format.
What is Lamentations?
Lamentations is a first-person action game about an undercover unit investigating disappearances inside a complex called the backrooms.
Players enter through an unknown elevator, search multiple floors, solve puzzles, avoid or fight creatures, and restore the elevator to escape. Before each descent, players choose a loadout with weapons, attachments, abilities, and ammunition. PvE dungeon-crawling matches award score and GP, which can fund later equipment and upgrades. A PvPvE mode adds rival survivors, one-life matches, and wager pools. The game includes cooperative multiplayer, a lobby browser, boss monsters, multiple difficulty levels, more than 30 loadout options, weapon-skin unlocks, Steam Achievements, and Steam Leaderboards.
