Our take on Last Group Out
Rather than using a conventional campaign structure, the game centers progression on repeated timed incursions: enter, scavenge, fight, and extract. It also adds sensory detection and stealth to a top-down shooter format, while allowing the same loop to be played solo or with a small co-op group.
What is Last Group Out?
Last Group Out is a 2D, top-down co-op extraction shooter set in a collapsed society.
Players enter hostile abandoned areas to search for gear, weapons, and other items before time expires, then sell unwanted loot to purchase stronger equipment. Experience comes from defeating enemies, finding gear, and completing quests. Leveling unlocks weapons, equipment, and boss challenges, while weapon buffs and loadout upgrades support stealthy or aggressive play. Players can use visual, auditory, and scent-based awareness alongside stealth to detect danger. Missions can be played alone or with up to three friends, with extracted loot used to prepare for later threats.

Last Group Out compared to similar games
Quasimorph also uses high-stakes missions where extracted gains strengthen the player, but it is described as a cyberpunk cosmic-horror roguelike involving corporate contracts. Last Group Out instead presents 2D top-down shooter missions with timed scavenging, weapon buffs, quests, and co-op for up to four players.
