Our take on Outbreak: Endless Nightmares
Its defining structure is the return to a central hospital hub after death, followed by another attempt through an altered anomaly with retained resources and progression.
What is Outbreak: Endless Nightmares?
This survival horror game combines classic exploration with roguelike structure.
Players investigate a hospital hub and changing anomaly areas, searching for weapons, healing items, clues, journals, storage caches, and other supplies while fighting undead enemies. Death returns characters to the hub, where inventory, experience, and money are retained. The game offers six characters with different abilities and upgrade paths, weapon repair and upgrades, ammunition crafting, healing-item combinations, and several gameplay modes. Anomalies can be revisited with altered traps, enemies, puzzles, challenges, and loot. Play solo or with one friend in split-screen co-op, using fixed, over-the-shoulder, or first-person camera views. A late-game randomly generated dungeon and multiple New Game+ modes add further challenges after the story.
