Our take on Outbreak: Lost Hope
Limited saving defines the tension: progress depends on finding floppy disks before it can be recorded, adding a resource-management constraint to exploration and combat.
What is Outbreak: Lost Hope?
Outbreak: Lost Hope follows Gwen after an accident separates her from her daughter, Hope, during an undead outbreak.
The game uses an over-the-shoulder perspective for survival-horror exploration. Players search locations for supplies, read logs, find keys, solve puzzles, and choose whether to confront enemies or flee. Firearms and melee weapons provide combat options, while knocked-down enemies can reanimate. Inventory space is restricted, with caches for storing items and rucksacks that expand capacity. Story Mode follows Gwen’s search, while Onslaught Mode focuses on gathering supplies and surviving against the undead. Multiple difficulty settings are available. Saving is limited: floppy disks are required to record progress. The game supports single-player play without an internet connection and customizable gamepad, mouse, and keyboard controls.
