Our take on Operencia: The Stolen Sun
Rather than centering its dungeon-crawling on underground spaces, the game sends exploration across varied locations, including outdoor areas. Its tile-based movement and optional player-drawn maps also put navigation alongside turn-based combat.
What is Operencia: The Stolen Sun?
Operencia: The Stolen Sun is a first-person dungeon crawler with turn-based combat and a fantasy setting drawn from Central European mythology and folktales.
Lead a party of seven characters across 13 levels, exploring tile-based maps, solving puzzles, and battling more than 50 enemy types with spells and special skills. The journey moves through settings such as royal tombs, castles, and the World Tree. Cartographer mode lets players map the 13 areas themselves, while difficulty options can limit saves, enable permadeath, or turn off auto-mapping. The game also supports optional VR play. Its story follows the search for the abducted Sun King, whose disappearance has left the land in darkness.
