Our take on Megadimension Neptunia VIIR
The page gives substantial attention to the VR room, but frames it as an optional mode alongside the turn-based RPG. A headset is not required, and VR controllers are unsupported, so the VR material is an added interaction mode rather than the basis of the game’s combat.
What is Megadimension Neptunia VIIR?
This enhanced version of Megadimension Neptunia VII follows Neptune as she joins Uzume Tennouboshi in a fight against the Dark CPU, an enemy threatening the Zero Dimension.
Battles use turn-based combat, with attack combos, special moves, team attacks and character positioning. Characters can also transform at two levels, adding another tactical option. Outside combat, an optional VR mode lets players customize a room and spend one-on-one time with characters, including listening to conversations and watching their reactions. HTC Vive and Oculus Rift are compatible, but a headset is not required, and VR play does not support VR controllers. The game also uses a new engine for updated graphics.
