What is Backrooms Media?
Backrooms Media is a cooperative horror game for 1–4 players set across surreal liminal environments.
Players follow a non-linear route through areas including the Bunker, Dark Woods, Pink Labyrinth, Parking Lot, and Deep Level 0, each presenting hazards, puzzles, or entities. Notes found throughout the levels reveal the fate of an earlier expedition. Distinct threats include Bacteria, Smiler, and Kitty. Procedural generation changes layouts, biomass, and darkness between runs. A capture-focused mode adds five gadgets, such as radars, decoys, sensors, and a stopping shocker. Temperature changes affect survival, while proximity voice chat supports coordination during exploration, trapping entities, and solving environmental puzzles.
