The environment can alter routes based on the character’s condition, making the changing layout part of the survival experience rather than just scenery.
What is Transliminal: Beyond The Backrooms?
This survival-horror game uses a first-person view and takes place in the Backrooms and the spaces beyond them.
As the character explores, rooms and routes rearrange, sometimes in response to the character’s condition. Searching containers and concealed spots yields supplies, tapes, batteries, crafting materials, tools, collectibles, and clues. Players manage resources and physical condition while facing environmental hazards, familiar Backrooms threats, and new entities whose behavior must be learned. Settings cover gameplay, survival, the HUD, visuals, and entities; entities and survival mode can be switched on or off. Multiple save files support different approaches, and the journey has several possible outcomes. VHS-inspired visuals also reflect the character’s condition, while the changing environments contribute to a mystery beneath the exploration.
