What is Touhou Spell Carnival?
Touhou Spell Carnival follows Reimu Hakurei as she investigates mysterious pillars and the Spell Carnival in Gensokyo.
Battles combine grid-based movement, real-time strategy elements, and bullet-hell hazards. Characters move to designated spaces, evade incoming projectiles, and use special skills during the same encounters. Party preparation includes arranging positions, assigning abilities around enemy weaknesses, and selecting an Ace Spell Card. Objects can obstruct bullets and grant additional effects when destroyed, while Attributes provide status effects and other battle benefits. Victories may also yield extra loot. Outside combat, Reimu can explore the Hakurei Shrine, review missions, revisit sub-events, use Photo Mode, and speak with Touhou Project characters as the story progresses.
