Our take on Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles
Its defining structure is a single underwater environment where towers mark mastery of different Motes, connecting the puzzle areas into one continuous descent.
What is Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles?
Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles is a 3D puzzle platformer set in the underwater Great Depths, a single environment divided into towers.
Players control Lumote and take control of the world’s bioluminescent inhabitants to solve interconnected puzzles. Each tower focuses on mastering a specific Mote and opens further challenges as Lumote descends through the world. The puzzles become more complex with each new Mote, while the full environment remains visible during play. After the first world’s Motes are mastered, a masterclass places Lumote in another world and gives control of the Mastermote. An electronica soundtrack communicates key moments and Lumote’s emotional states, and a photo mode provides camera controls for capturing the world.
