Our take on Life of an NPC
Rather than placing the player in a fixed role with scripted objectives, the game makes observation and intervention its central structure. Towns begin from prompts, while NPC goals and reactions generate developments that can change after the player alters the simulation.
What is Life of an NPC?
Life of an NPC is a top-down town simulation centered on characters governed by AI.
Each NPC develops personal objectives and chooses responses to encounters with other residents or happenings in the environment. Characters can use items on one another and interact with objects around the town. A prompt generates each town, after which players can alter an individual’s objectives or introduce additional objects to observe how the community changes over time. The game is in Early Access. The developer says future development is uncertain and that updates are not guaranteed, with current development attention focused on another game.
