Our take on AI Roguelite
The open-ended AI systems trade authored consistency for variation: locations, recipes, combat results, and story responses are generated during play. That gives the game a broad range of possible situations, but outcomes depend on model responses, plausibility checks, and dice rolls.
What is AI Roguelite?
AI Roguelite is a text-based RPG in which artificial intelligence determines locations, non-player characters, enemies, items, crafting recipes, and game mechanics.
Players explore an open-ended world, combine ingredients through AI-generated recipes, and resolve attacks using action descriptions, attribute and skill checks, plausibility judgments, and dice rolls. The game then produces a story describing the result and determines whether an enemy is killed, injured, or unharmed. Each entity also receives an AI-generated image through a local GPU or cloud service. Parties can include up to four additional members with individual stats, abilities, items, and perks. Text and image generation can use free or paid cloud services, or custom API options.
