Our take on 破镜恐惧
Rather than centering crime-solving on evidence alone, this adventure makes character allocation and dice part of how choices resolve. Its current release is a substantial preface, not a completed multi-chapter case, so the story's branching structure is presented in installments.
What is 破镜恐惧?
Play a policeman transferred to Nabos, a seaside town troubled by crime, entrenched gang families, and cults.
Create a character by adjusting basic attributes and assigning skills; physical strength and shooting ability affect how encounters can be approached. During the investigation, choose between options such as reasoning with people, threatening them with a police badge, advancing into danger, or withdrawing. Dice determine the outcome of each choice. Searching for the truth turns up case clues and information about local customs, tying the investigation to the town's history and hidden interests.
The current release contains the preface, with more than 100,000 words, nearly 100 choices, and two plot lines. The planned chapter structure is three chapters with multiple branches. The game currently supports Chinese only.
