Our take on Neoproxima
The bounce point arrives when each loop begins with restricted time and willpower. Players must select an objective, manage those resources, and accept death as part of the investigation before repeated attempts reveal more of the story.
What is Neoproxima?
Set in 1975, Neoproxima follows Farah, the leader of a treasure-hunting team trapped in a repeating cycle on Kairos’ Colony.
Humanity can travel between stars, and rival powers are searching the frontier for alien technology. Each loop provides limited time and willpower for choosing an objective, exploring the colony, meeting inhabitants, finding clues, and entering ruins. The game combines written adventure scenes with a 3D isometric map, inventory management, character statistics, dice rolls, hit points, basic survival mechanics, and puzzles based on time. A small truck provides transportation around the map. Death restarts the cycle, allowing further attempts to uncover information, solve the loop’s puzzles, and learn its true nature while perks become available.
How Neoproxima plays
- 01Time-loop investigation
- Each cycle limits available time and willpower while Farah searches for clues and pursues a chosen objective.
- 02Isometric colony map
- A three-dimensional isometric environment contains Kairos’ Colony, surrounding areas, inhabitants, and ruins to investigate.
- 03Stat-based dice rolls
- Character attributes and carried items influence the odds in encounters resolved through dice.
- 04Loop-based progression
- Repeated cycles reveal information and can provide perks that make later attempts different.
