Our take on Gourdlets
Rather than giving town-building a target to optimize, Gourdlets removes objectives, points, currency, and failure states. Its central structure is open-ended decoration followed by observation, with the residents' relaxed routines serving as the activity.
What is Gourdlets?
Gourdlets is a sandbox town-building game centered on a community of vegetable residents.
Players place buildings, decorations, planters, fountains, cafes, and lighthouses, then arrange furniture inside buildings. The gourdlets settle into the town and carry out activities such as fishing, reading, camping, and sleeping. Citizens can be customized with accessories, while day-night cycles and changeable weather alter the setting. Several starter maps provide different creative starting points. There is no currency, objective system, scoring, or fail state. The game can run in full-screen mode or in an idle window at the bottom of the desktop while other PC activities continue.
