Our take on Heard of the Story?
Rather than centering a city-building game on pressure or threats to the settlement, this one removes combat, timed tasks, and harsh penalties. Its structure also gives villagers independent lives and stories to follow, alongside the usual work of gathering resources and expanding a town.
What is Heard of the Story??
Heard of the Story?
is a medieval town-building simulation focused on both construction and villagers’ lives. Gather resources, craft items, and build roads and structures without a grid. Buildings, amenities, fields, and accommodation shape the town as its residents develop interests, skills, needs, and relationships. Villagers can help with construction, trade, share information, and form connections with one another. Talking with them reveals personal histories and adds discoveries to a journal. Each map is randomly generated, with its own regions, towns, and family histories; seasons and daylight change over time. The game has no combat, timed tasks, or harsh penalties, and can be played at a relaxed pace, from a small village to a larger town.
