Our take on Kujlevka
The focus on observation, dialogue, decisions, and dream sequences leaves less room for conventional action or direct confrontation. That trade-off suits a reflective first-contact story, but limits the experience for players expecting frequent mechanical challenges.
What is Kujlevka?
In 1992, a flying saucer crashes into the chairman’s house in the remote Russian village of Kujlevka.
As the collective farm’s headmaster, the player becomes the first point of contact and decides which visitors may enter the UFO. The aliens observe humanity rather than rushing to communicate, while the village becomes a center for science, exploration, and supernatural events. The encounter unfolds amid financial crisis, rising crime, and political turbulence. Kujlevka explores village life through the protagonist’s dreams, moving beyond dialogue and text walls into atmospheric dream sequences. Decisions about the meeting with the extraterrestrials influence the course of history.
