StrategyIs The Crust worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy building and automating resource-producing colonies
- Strategy players who like balancing research, resource trade, and faction choices
- Players interested in managing a crew of colonists alongside lunar exploration
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for combat-centered gameplay may find the focus on base production, research, exploration, and trade limiting.
- Players who prefer a single management system may hit a wall balancing automation, research, rover expeditions, contracts, and colonist needs.
- Players seeking a historical or terrestrial colony setting may not connect with the lunar base and Earth-trade premise.
Our take on The Crust
The likely bounce point comes when colony upkeep extends beyond production: players must also follow colonists’ health, mood, and needs while managing research, rover trips, and Earth contracts. Those looking for a focused automation loop may find that combination a stopping point.
What is The Crust?
Build a lunar base around resource extraction, processing, research, exploration, and trade.
Mine lunar materials, craft machinery, and automate production with conveyor belts and drones. Power the base with satellites and batteries, and develop scientific capabilities through three research trees. Send a rover to different lunar locations to explore hidden secrets and mysteries of humanity’s lunar habitat. Trade resources with Earth through contracts, choosing which faction to support or navigating those choices for profit. Recruit colonists and monitor their health, mood, and needs. Their traits and skills affect how they work together in production and research. The game combines base building with a story-driven narrative, resource management, lunar expeditions, political choices, and colony management.
