StrategyIs Homeseek worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who enjoy managing a settlement under resource pressure rather than building with abundant supplies
- Players who want campaign scenarios with story, endless, and survival modes instead of a single fixed format
- Groups seeking online survival matches with direct competition and interference between settlements
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who prefer settlement growth without having to weigh expansion against dwindling local supplies
- Those looking for a peaceful colony experience may find the survival scenarios and hostile multiplayer tactics too confrontational
- Players seeking a historically grounded empire-building strategy game may prefer a different setting and focus
Our take on Homeseek
The focus on dwindling supplies makes expansion a constant constraint: growing the settlement can strain the same local resources its survivors need. That pressure suits a survival strategy structure, but leaves less room for carefree building or growth without trade-offs.
What is Homeseek?
Homeseek is a survival strategy game set on a water-depleted Earth.
Lead a group of survivors as they establish a settlement, balancing food, shelter, and other needs against scarce resources that decline in each area. Research improvements to settlers’ knowledge and machinery, choosing advancements that fit the colony’s needs. Expeditions, events, and quests bring stories, dilemmas, and dangerous opponents, with choices that affect the settlement. The game includes 2 campaigns spanning over 9 scenarios, each playable in Story, Endless, or Survival Mode. Online multiplayer pits players against one another in a survival scenario, where they can sabotage buildings, take resources, and try to leave rivals without food.
