Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want turns without choices between competing goals may hit a wall when limited dice results and wealth prevent pursuing every action at once.
- Players seeking a long campaign or extended sessions may find the roughly 15–20-minute game structure too brief.
- Players looking for a game without player attacks may not enjoy the option to attack rivals and defend against retaliation.
Our take on Hoards of Glory
Players who expect to pursue every objective in a turn may bounce off the dice-and-wealth tradeoff: the game says those resources can rarely cover earning wealth, attacking, and defending all at once. That constraint arrives during the yearly turn, when dice results must be assigned among competing actions.
What is Hoards of Glory?
A 1–4-player game in which captains journey across the known world to recruit companions and gather treasure, with a solo mode featuring Viking AI.
Every round covers a year. Players cast four colored dice, then assign the results to objectives on a Boast Card, launch attacks, protect themselves, or collect coins. Money can be spent on extra dice, while the available results and funds limit how many choices can be pursued at once. Captains must decide which objectives deserve priority. The winner is the first player to complete all requirements on their card. Sessions run for roughly 15–20 minutes, and the game is presented as suitable for players aged 8 and above.
