Our take on Sword of the Stars: The Pit
The store presentation gives substantial space to the tabletop adaptation, its Tabletop Simulator mod, and a past Kickstarter message. The playable video game itself is presented through a short premise and feature list, so the board-game material can distract from the digital RPG’s expedition-based structure.
What is Sword of the Stars: The Pit?
Sword of the Stars: The Pit is a turn-based RPG set in an alien facility beneath the Feldspar Mountains.
Players choose from 3 main characters—Marine, Pilot, or Engineer—or use 5 additional characters from the MindGames expansion, included in the base game. The Pit contains 30 levels, with enemies, traps, radiation, disease, starvation, and other hazards creating multiple ways to die. Character skills can improve during expeditions, while crafting combines materials from defeated enemies into special items. More than 50 weapons and armor pieces, over 100 discoverable items, randomized augmentations, varied room types, hidden messages, recipes, and setting lore shape each run.
