Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a forgiving progression loop may find permanent death and rising floor difficulty restrictive.
- Players who prefer a fixed, authored environment may not enjoy procedurally generated rooms and biomes.
- Players looking for a competitive multiplayer shooter may not find the described solo and cooperative play structure a match.
Our take on The Pit: Infinity
The run-based design trades continuity for escalating risk: permadeath can end a descent, while each lower floor raises the challenge. That structure makes persistence through a single run central, rather than offering a steady, low-risk exploration experience.
What is The Pit: Infinity?
The Pit: Infinity is a first-person shooter and role-playing game set in a high-tech alien facility.
Play solo or cooperatively with up to three friends as a Marine, Scout, or Engineer, each with different attributes, skills, and items. The facility’s hallways, rooms, and biomes are procedurally generated. Fight monsters and robots to earn experience and loot, search for supplies, ammunition, and gear, and open locked doors. Gaining levels lets characters improve attributes and skills, while gathered components can be used to craft items. The game uses roguelike permadeath: a run can end in death, and the floors become progressively harder to beat as players descend.
