RPGIs Gobs and Gods worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Tactical RPG players who want grid-based battles with resource decisions
- Players who prefer odd, comedic quests over traditional world-saving stories
- Strategy fans who enjoy managing a disposable party across repeated battles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a low-risk progression system may bounce off the loss of most of the army after defeat
- Players wanting only tightly scripted exploration may dislike choosing between a default map and procedural worlds
- Players looking for conventional heroic fantasy quests may find the goblin-focused objectives too absurd
Our take on Gobs and Gods
The bounce point comes after a defeat: most of the army is lost, so players attached to carefully levelled goblins must rebuild. The recovery system converts lost experience into devotion points, but it does not preserve the defeated units.
What is Gobs and Gods?
Lead a group of goblins through a magical sandbox world filled with dungeons, mage towers, villages, and unusual quests.
Battles take place on hexagonal grids, where each goblin uses limited action points to move, attack, cast spells, or provoke enemies. Essence points unlock stronger abilities but are scarce, adding resource decisions to each turn. Enemy units act together during the opposing phase, and battles can switch to real-time mode to finish more quickly. Goblins gain experience, strength, and perks when they survive. Defeat removes most of the army, but lost experience becomes devotion points that unlock powers and support recovery. A default map and procedurally generated worlds provide two exploration structures.
How Gobs and Gods plays

- 05Recovery after defeat
