Our take on Max Stern
The premise presents a wide historical mystery, but the plot is described as brief. The listed play centers on crossing hazards, fighting skeletons, solving puzzles, and finding secrets, which gives the game a narrower practical scope than its setup suggests.
What is Max Stern?
Max Stern is a story-driven platformer set on a mysterious tropical island in an alternative-history version of the mid-19th century.
After an airship carrying ammunition is knocked out, former officer and smuggler Max travels through jungle, ruined buildings, traps, and areas filled with hostile skeletons while searching for the airship or its debris. The game combines gunplay with mines, environmental hazards, and puzzles. Skeletons use different weapons and equipment, creating varied encounters.
