Our take on FRONT MISSION 2: Remake
The game prioritizes strategic mech combat and an involved multi-character narrative, so it gives up the immediacy of real-time action. Its focus on war, political conflict, and customization also leaves less room for a light or purely combat-driven experience.
What is FRONT MISSION 2: Remake?
This tactical RPG follows Ash, Lisa, and Thomas during a military uprising in Alordesh in 2102.
After surviving the conflict, Ash and his teammates move through the country's underground while investigating the forces behind the coup. The story presents events from three viewpoints rather than dividing the conflict into simple heroes and villains. Battles use turn-based strategy, and Wanzers can be customized with different colors and camouflage. This remake adds updated visuals, modern effects, a renewed soundtrack, faster loading, and additional language support. A free-camera option allows closer views of the machines during gameplay.
