Our take on Ignited Steel: Mech Tactics
The bounce point arrives when overheating turns an offensive gain into a defensive liability. Players must decide whether extra damage is worth making a mech more vulnerable, while also spending energy on movement and attacks.
What is Ignited Steel: Mech Tactics?
Ignited Steel: Mech Tactics is a turn-based mech roguelike about managing a team of ageing machines against a sentient AI overlord.
Movement and attacks consume energy and can raise a mech’s heat; overheating increases its damage output while also making it more exposed to enemy attacks. Runs move through a galaxy map node by node, with missions, events, stories, pilots, and modules appearing across playthroughs. Three mech types—Juggernaut, Stalker, and Javelin—offer different advantages and counterplay. Mechs can be modified with modules that provide distinct traits, while new pilots join the campaign and bring individual personalities and tactics.
